Vulcan Space Adventure Virtual Reality Game, at the Vulcan Tourism & Trek Station in Vulcan Alberta

YOUR MISSION: SAVE THE GALAXY!!!

The Vulcan Space Adventure Virtual Reality Game, located in the Vulcan Tourism & Trek Station, is set in a parody universe inspired by the original Star Trek television series.
Players are cadets at "Starflight Academy", where they are tutored by a character who bears a funny resemblance to one of the original Captains of the Starship Enterprise.

Starflight Cadets pass through a set of "swooshing" doors, and start the game off in training mode when all of a sudden a RRRRrrrrrred Alert!!!! is called, the Admiral Namuras of the Argon Invasion Fleet attacks and the fun begins! It's up to you to call out the commands:

Shields up!

Fire Torpedoes!!!

as you try to save the galaxy from invasion

The Vulcan Space Adventure Virtual Reality Game is OPEN YEAR ROUND, located in the Vulcan Tourism & Trek Station.

The Vulcan Space Adventure Virtual Reality Game uses a patented "multi-camera" "point & click" technology created by GestureTek which, combined light and sound effects and even a transporter, creates a thrilling virtual reality experience that puts visitors squarely into the black boots of "Starflight" officers fighting off alien invaders by moving their hand through thin air to point and shoot their weapons. GestureTek's technology has been thrilling users in public and private installations around the world since well before the movie "Minority Report" popularized the concept of gesture control. The "Vulcan Space Adventure" is one of only a couple GestureTek installations in Canada, and a first opportunity for Western Canada to see and experience this technology in action.

The "Vulcan Space Adventure" project was funded by the Town of Vulcan, with matching funds from the Alberta Lottery Fund. The Alberta Lottery Fund reinvests gaming revenue from VLTs, slot machines and ticket lotteries into projects that matter to Albertans. It is the "here and now" fund, working this second in places you never knew. When you see the Alberta Lottery Fund logo, you will see funds at work.
