WOW!  Another fun and successful VulCON: Spock Days/Galaxyfest weekend has come and gone, and what a great weekend it was!
The sun shone brightly over record crowds of visitors, aliens and trekkies alike!

Stay tuned for announcements about next year's Spock Days/Galaxyfest weekend.... considering Vulcans were the first alien race to make contact with Earth, according to Star Trek Canon, and considering there is a well known Arthur C Clarke sci-fi film called 2010: the year we make contact, it seems only logical that our 2010 VulCON event have a particularly Vulcan focus.  It's too soon to get into any programming specifics, but rest assured we will have a lot of fun planning and scheming to make Vulcan, Alberta's 2010 community-wide Star Trek convention one to remember!

WHAT: Vulcan, Alberta's Annual community-wide Star Trek Convention

WHO: Visitors from across the country and around the galaxy.

11AM - 1PM - Vulcan County/VAPPA Community BBQ at the Vulcan County Administrative Building

6:30PM - 9:30PM - Compton Petroleum Slo-Pitch Tournament at Virginia Mitchell Park

5PM - 1AM - Spock Days Beer Gardens at Virginia MItchell Park

6PM - 10PM - Celebrity Meet & Greet Welcome Reception - Friday Evening at the Vulcan Tourism & Trek Station, Meet old Friends and New.  Mix and Mingle with this year's Celebrity Guests at this popular Galaxyfest weekend kick-off event (Pre-registration required, this is a licensed, all ages event)  NOTE: THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT

8AM - 9:30PM - Compton Petroleum Slo-Pitch Tournament at Virginia Mitchell Park

10AM - Spock Days Parade - Saturday morning, throughout town: featuring Celebrity Guests as honourary parade marshalls. Parade is sponsored by MacLeod Savings and Credit Union. Parade Route begins at Vulcan Arena Parking Lot.



10AM - 6PM - Vulcan Tourism & Trek Station OPEN

10AM - 4PM - Star Trek Dealer Tables OPEN,  at the Vulcan Legion

11AM - 4PM - Vulcan & District Museum OPEN

11AM - 4PM - 2nd Annual Star Trek Intergalactic Fanfiction exhibition (aka S.T.I.F.F.e) at the Vulcan Legion.  This event will give our fans a chance to showcase the fan fiction objects (art, literature, photography, film etc) they create to celebrate Star Trek! This exhibition is hosted in part by CIBC and has free admission and will be held in the Vulcan Legion throughout the day on Saturday June 13th.

11AM - 7PM Spock Days Family Fun Fair - throughout downtown Vulcan

11AM - 7PM - Inflatable Bouncers - Pay one price, play all day: $10.00 per person, 11AM - 7PM, $5.00 per person, 4PM-7PM, operated by Rainbow Literacy

11AM - Spock Days Bed Races - in Downtown Vulcan

at the Vulcan CRC, This NEW event replaces the Galaxyfest Banquet in 2009.  Dress up in your best Star Trek Costume and prepare to dance the night away to Retro 80s music provided by the Much Music Video Dance Party.!!!  There will be a decadent and spacey chocolate buffet and midnight lunch served.  Win Fantastic door-prizes courtesy of Roddenberry Productions.   (this is an all ages, licensed event, pre-registration required, Contact Vulcan Tourism 403-485-2994



9PM - 2AM - Spock Days Cabaret - Saturday Night - Vulcan Arena, The return of a favourite community event.  This year's entertainment will be provided by the Much Music Video Dance Party, and will feature a Country-Crossover theme (this is a non-costume, ticketed event, must be 18 or older to attend)  Tickets available at the Vulcan Tourism & Trek Station until June 11, and at the Market Street Pharmacy.
