2010 Event Details:

WHAT: Vulcan, Alberta's 17th Annual community-wide Star Trek Convention
WHEN: June 11 - 13, 2010 
WHERE: All across town!
WHO: Visitors from across the country and around the galaxy.

WHY: Decend onto the Canadian Prairies to the Official Star Trek Capital of Canada, for a weekend of extra-terrestrial family fun!

Stardate 11.06.2010 (Friday June 11, 2010):

11AM - 1PM - Vulcan County Community BBQ at the Vulcan County Administrative Building

3PM - 5PM - Special Screening of the film "Star Trek: Of Gods and Men", introduced by director Tim Russ at the Vulcan Lodge Hall, Tickets $15.00 each at the door.

6:30PM - 9:30PM - Shaw Direct/Spock Days Slo-Pitch Tournament at Virginia Mitchell Park

5PM - 1AM - Spock Days Beer Gardens at Virginia MItchell Park

6PM - 10PM - Celebrity Meet & Greet Welcome Reception - Friday Evening at the Vulcan Legion, Meet old Friends and New.  Mix and Mingle with this year's Celebrity Guest, Actor Tim Russ at this popular Galaxyfest weekend kick-off event ( Tickets $35.00 each, Pre-registration required, this is a licensed, all ages event)

7PM - 11PM - Youth Dance - at the Vulcan Lodge Hall, Ages 13 and up (as long as you're in school!).  There's gonna be a DJ, prizes and food.  $5.00 or $3.00 with 2 Food Bank donations.

11PM - Spock Days Fireworks - Friday night, Virginia Mitchell Park

7AM - 10AM -  Conoco Philips Pancake Breakfast in the CRC.

8AM - 9:30PM - Shaw Direct/Spock Days Slo-Pitch Tournament at Virginia Mitchell Park

10AM - MSCU/Spock Days Parade - Saturday morning, throughout town: featuring Celebrity Guests as honourary parade marshalls. Parade is sponsored by MacLeod Savings and Credit Union. Parade Route begins at Vulcan Arena Parking Lot.



10AM - 6PM - Vulcan Tourism & Trek Station OPEN

10AM - 4PM - Star Trek Dealer Tables OPEN,  at the Vulcan Legion

11AM - 4PM - Vulcan & District Museum OPEN

11AM - 4PM - Spock Days Outdoor Market, at the CRC Field

11AM - 5PM CIBC/Spock Days Family Fun Fair - throughout downtown Vulcan.  This event is sponsored by CIBC.

11AM - Spock Days Bed Races - in Downtown Vulcan

11:30AM - 5PM - Live Entertainment on the ATB Financial/Spock Days Community Stage - This event is sponsored by ATB Financial

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE (times and performers subject to change):

12 Noon -  Actor Tim Russ will perform a free family concert on the Community Stage
Additional entertainment will be listed when confirmed.

1:15PM - 2:25PM - Galaxyfest Celebrity Question & Answer Session, featuring special guest Tim Russ and a special screening of the short film he directed: "Roddenberry on Patrol" at the Vulcan Lodge Hall, Tickets $35.00 each.  Preregistration required.  Contact Vulcan Tourism 403-485-2994

2:30PM - 4:30PM - Celebrity Autograph Signing, featuring Tim Russ  - Saturday afternoon, Vulcan Lodge Hall, ( free admission, but charge for autographs)

6PM - 11PM Galaxyfest Banquet and "Spock Sock Hop" Dance - at the Vulcan CRC.   Dress up in your best vintage Star Trek Costume and prepare to dine and dance the night away.   Win FANTASTIC Door Prizes including:

- a chance to dine with Tim Russ

- a Spock Beamed Home to Vulcan prize package (Complete with a photo of Spock autographed by Leonard Nimoy) and

- a Star Trek XI prize package (complete with a poster autographed by Captain Pike/Bruce Greenwood)

9PM - 2AM - Spock Days Cabaret - Saturday Night - Vulcan Arena, The return of a favourite community event.  Ticket details to be announced.

Shaw Direct/Spock Days Slo-Pitch Tournament and Beer Gardens - all weekend, Vulcan ball diamonds, (pre-registration required).
